Post Graduate Programme: "Cinema in Education: Theory and Creative Practices"

CURRICULUM

The language of instruction for the Post Graduate Programme is Greek.

The duration of the Post Graduate Programme is one (1) academic year. The time for writing the thesis is included in the above period (but there is also the possibility of a few months' extension if necessary).

The whole programme corresponds to 75 ECTS because it is considered to be an "intensive postgraduate program" that includes a full year of study (60 ECTS) without summer breaks (an additional 15 ECTS).

Teaching is conducted through modern distance learning two afternoons a week.

In-person meetings are held at the Evripou Complex, and include laboratory courses (filming, editing, etc.) and educational practices for creating student films on two weekends each semester.

The Curriculum includes eight theoretical and practical courses, divided into two semesters of study. After successful completion of the courses, the Postgraduate Diploma Thesis is prepared.

By attending the courses and successfully completing the Post Graduate Programme "Cinema in Education: Theory and Creative Practices", graduates will be able to:

  • know and apply the phases of construction of an audiovisual work decode explicit and implicit meanings of complex audiovisual messages
  • analyze, interpret and judge films and audiovisual artistic works
  • frame and analyze the trends and approaches of film education and audiovisual literacy, according to social and historical perspectives
  • distinguish the various methodological approaches to cultural practices in film education and audiovisual literacy
  • design and organize educational material related to film education and audiovisual literacy
